Meet Darrell, Your Health & Wellness Coach

I have had a passion for health and fitness for as long as I can remember. I think it goes way back to when my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was a teenager. To help heal her body, she started following the Pritikin Diet and eliminated all sugar from our house, so from that time onward I always remember being conscious of what I ate. Being a keen sportsperson, lots of exercise has always been part of my lifestyle.

Toward my late 30’s I was fortunate to spend 10 days at the Gawler Foundation in the Yarra Valley immersed in intensive meditation, mindfulness and following a strict, yet nutritious and completely delicious plant-based eating plan.

The Gawler Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that promotes a whole person – holistic and integrative approach to health, healing and wellbeing. Dr Ian Gawler ran a lot of the workshops in this time, and it was this experience that shaped the way I approach not only my health and wellbeing but that of my clients also. Meditation and mindfulness have become a daily practice that has helped me navigate the inevitable ups and downs of life on this planet.

More than 10 years ago I had a dream to bring likeminded practitioners into one hub to service the health and wellness needs of our community. The recent opening of hc health hub has brought this dream into reality and we are excited to have practitioners in the field of Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Nutrition, Health Coaching and Remedial Massage who are all passionate about improving the wellbeing of clients of all ages.

With my exercise background, years of experience in the fitness industry, meditation and mindfulness practices I am ready to equip clients with strategies, knowledge and support to achieve their health and wellbeing goals.
